Welcome to the Evolutionary Computation Laboratory
in the School of EECS
at the University of Central Florida.
We are a group of students and faculty members who are interested
in studying and understanding the theory and dynamics of
evolutionary algorithms.
Evolutionary algorithms, including genetic algorithms,
evolutionary programming, and evolutionary strategies,
are search and learning tools
which were first developed in the 1960's and 1970's.
Based on principles from genetics and evolutionary biology,
these algorithms have been successfully applied to a wide range of problems.
The research in our lab includes both theoretical studies on how these
algorithms work and real world applications.
We work closely with the members of the
Natural Computation and Coadaptive Systems Laboratory.
